What is Rusty?
Rusty is a parent-managed learning companion for children. Its current learning scope focuses on early math and reading practice through short activities, shared reading, quizzes, games, and optional voice conversations. Structured learning evidence helps Rusty choose what to revisit and gives parents plain-language progress information.
Is the new learning companion available now?
Yes. Rusty 2.1 is available now on the App Store and includes the family learning experience alongside the adult Brain Training experience. Downloading Rusty gives you both services in the same app.
Who is Rusty being designed for?
The first version is focused on children ages 6–10 and the parents who support them. Rusty is being designed to adjust pacing, repetition, visuals, response time, and session length for different learners without diagnosing or labeling a child.
What will parents be able to see?
Parents can see structured session history, practiced skills, progress evidence, and what Rusty plans to revisit. Rusty does not save a child’s raw voice recordings or full conversation transcripts, and it does not accept photo or homework uploads. Each child’s profile and learning record stay separate.
Does Rusty replace a teacher or human tutor?
No. Rusty is being built as a patient learning companion that can provide individualized practice, ask follow-up questions, and keep parents informed. It should support families and educators—not make high-stakes academic, developmental, or medical decisions.
How are you thinking about child safety and privacy?
Adults own the account and manage child profiles, devices, privacy choices, and deletion. Core activities can stay on the device. Rusty has no ads, does not sell children’s information, and does not save child voice recordings or transcripts. Optional voice features use Google under Rusty’s approved zero-data-retention configuration after the adult sees the notice and completes the required authorization and consent steps.

Adventure Worlds change the look and feel of the learner experience without changing the educational rules. Children can explore Wild Safari, Outer Space, Deep Ocean, Dino Valley, or Enchanted Forest, with a themed Rusty mascot and background designed to keep practice feeling fresh.
