Looking for the adult Brain Training Rusty?
It's still here. Rusty is now primarily a learning companion for children ages 6–10, but the original adult brain-training app lives on inside the same download as Legacy Mode — with your account, your progress, and your subscription exactly as you left them.
What changed
Rusty became a tutor for kids.
Rusty started as a daily brain gym for adults. Over time the clearest, most useful thing it did was teach — patiently, out loud, one idea at a time. That turned out to matter far more to children who are still learning how to learn than to adults keeping sharp.
So we rebuilt Rusty around that: a voice-first learning companion for children roughly ages 6–10, with a parent account, real activities, and honest progress reporting for families. That is where our work goes now.
We did not want to strand the people who already relied on the original app, so we did not delete it. It ships inside the same binary, keeps its own account and subscription, and stays reachable from the first screen.
Your core history is preserved
What is still here.
Your account and progress
Scores, accuracy, benchmarks, and current and longest streak are preserved. Historical social records may remain stored with your adult account, but network social features are disabled and those records are not shown to other users. Account deletion removes them under our Privacy Policy.
Your subscription
If you subscribed to Brain Training, it keeps working on the terms you bought it under. The children's tutoring plans are entirely separate products — buying one does not change or cancel the other.
The app itself
Mental Speed, Verbal Fluency, Critical Thinking, the daily benchmark, progress trends, and personal games are still there. Friend codes, head-to-head challenges, and leaderboards are disabled in this version.

How to open Brain Training.
Open Rusty
It's the same app and the same download — nothing separate to install. If you already have it, just open it.
Find “Classic Brain Training” on the welcome screen
Below the two tutoring options there's an “or”, and under it a card titled “Classic Brain Training — the original cognitive-training app, for adults”.
Tap it and pass the grown-up check
Read four number words and type the digits. It keeps children out of the adult area; it is not an ID check and nothing is sent anywhere.
You're back in Brain Training
Sign in with the same account you always used. Your streak, scores, benchmarks, and personal training history are still there.
Already had Rusty before the change?
The first time you open the updated app you'll see a one-time “Rusty has evolved” screen with both doors on it. Choose Continue to Brain Training and you'll go straight back. You can move between the two whenever you like — there's a “Switch to the new Rusty” option in Brain Training under You, and a way back to Brain Training in the children's app under Parent Settings → Help & Support.
Worth knowing before you go back
Legacy Mode is frozen, not abandoned.
Brain Training will keep working and we'll keep it running, but it will not receive new features or new exercises — new work goes into the children's product. The app shows a small notice saying exactly that, which you can dismiss permanently.
Network social features are disabled. Friend codes, friend connections, head-to-head challenges, and leaderboards are not available or shown to other users in this version. Historical social records may remain stored with your adult account, but they are private and are removed when you delete the account, subject to the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy.
Verbal Fluency is back. The spoken-answer exercise is running again for subscribers, with your past results still in your history. One thing worth knowing: it is the single place in Rusty that saves a transcript — your spoken answer is transcribed and kept alongside your scores so the progress history works. That is the opposite of the children's side, which never stores audio or transcripts, and it is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
If we ever do retire Legacy Mode entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice in the app or by email, and a way to export or delete your training data first.
